Clearspace is an app designed to help you take control of your screen time. Whether it’s social media, shopping apps, or games, Clearspace introduces a 15-second buffer before every open of an addicting app and pulls you out when you’re done with a session. It also gamifies the process, allowing users to build their own digital weight loss streaks as they stay below their screen time budget. Clearspace was born out of frustration with the attention economy where willpower alone was no longer enough. The app inserts a mandatory stimulus-response buffer before every open of an addicting app in order to break the dopamine feedback loop created by tech giants that rewarded users for tapping icons and scrolling mindlessly.
